In compliance with the Yellowstone County Board of County Commissioners'' Resolution No. 24-136 regarding Yellowstone County Publication and Posting of Notices, as of September 3rd, 2024, all public sale postings by the Sheriff’s Office will be placed in our own lobby as well as at the following locations: Yellowstone County Courthouse 217 N 27th St – 1st floor lobby bulletin board Stillwater Building 316 N 26th St – 3rd floor lobby bulletin board City/County Planning Office 2224 Montana Ave – bulletin board

GENERAL INFORMATION REGARDING SHERIFFS SALES: All sales will be made to the highest bidder and all sales are final; however, certain real property may be sold subject to a Right of Redemption. Refer to the judgment or order on file with the presiding court for more information.(See also: Non-Payment After Sale). NO GUARANTEE as to the condition of any property sold by the Yellowstone County Sheriff''s Office is expressed or implied. To obtain bid information (if any) contact the Yellowstone County Sheriff''s Office before the sale date at 406-256-2959. Registration is required just prior to the sale at the sale location. Check the webpage for status updates and information on all sales.

All property will be sold at the time and date stated on the posted Notice of Sale (click on the links under Control # next to the sale date to view) and will be sold AS-IS with no expressed or implied warranty.

PAYMENT: Acceptable forms of payment include cash, cashiers check or money order PAYABLE TO YELLOWSTONE COUNTY SHERIFF''S OFFICE. If a letter of credit is presented at the sale, the actual funds in the form of either cash or cashiers check PAYABLE TO YELLOWSTONE COUNTY SHERIFF''S OFFICE will need to be delivered to the Yellowstone County Sheriffs Office no later than 3:00 p.m. the day of the sale. After receipt of payment in full, the Sheriffs Office will prepare the appropriate Certificate or Deed as required. The sale creditor will be allowed to enter a credit bid up to only the amount owed; any amount bid by the creditor over the amount owed must be paid in full in one of the other forms listed above.

NON-PAYMENT AFTER SALE: If payment is not received from the purchaser, the sale will be rescheduled and the property will be resold to the highest bidder. As provided in statute, the delinquent purchaser may not be allowed to bid in this or any future sales held by the Sheriffs Office; and the delinquent purchaser will be held responsible for any and all fees incurred to repost and resell the property.
