The District Court is a cornerstone of the judicial system, responsible for maintaining accurate court records, processing legal documents, and supporting judges, attorneys, and the public. The Clerk ensures that court operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in accordance with the law.

Your jury duty obligation is only for the date on your summons. If your trial is cancelled or your date has passed, you do not need to appear again until you receive a new summons.
To request an excusal after receiving a jury summons, the juror must return the Affidavit for Excusal included with the summons. You are NOT excused unless you receive a verbal reply or email response after sending in the affidavit.

If you have Jury Duty at the Yellowstone County Courthouse, please come to 217 N. 27th Street Billings, MT 59101

District Court will validate parking for 1st Ave North Parking Garage and Park 3 Parking Garage.

Located on 27th next to the Court House & Police Dept. between 2nd & 3rd Avenue

Please bring your parking stub with you to court for validation. To avoid the possibility of receiving a ticket for parking in a reserved spot, you MUST park in a parking spot that is labeled HOURLY OR HOTEL GUEST. Unfortunately, we cannot reimburse you for parking violations. Handicapped Parking is located on the East side of the Courthouse as well as in front of the North Entrance of the Courthouse. Please note that if you have a Handicap sticker or permanent Handicap License, the City of Billings allows you to use ANY on street parking for free at any time with the exception of emergency and loading zones.
