Notice Regarding January Vehicle Renewal Reminder Postcards

The Vehicle Services Bureau has confirmed that it incorrectly calculated the fees printed on the blue vehicle renewal reminder postcards mailed for January renewals. Due to this error, the postcards reflect 2025 fees, when renewals should be based on 2026 fees, as the vehicle is now one year older.

The error originated within the Vehicle Services Bureau postcard calculation process, and the Vehicle Services Bureau is currently taking steps to correct the issue.

  • This error results only in overpayments.
  • No customers will be required to pay additional money.
  • In-person renewals are not affected, as our system displays the correct fee.
  • Mailed renewals with a difference greater than $5.00 will be returned so the customer may submit the correct payment.

Thank you for your patience. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this error.
