Procedure for Obtaininga Concealed Weapons Permit
ALL permits require a completed Application Packet. Which can be downloaded or picked up in our lobby 24/7.
NEW Concealed Weapon Permits are processed by walkin only, Monday through Friday 9am to 3pm, (holidays excluded). Fill out and print application and bring application, along with $50, cash, check or credit card, your MT ID/Drivers License and proof of firearm training. Do not sign application until you are before a sheriff’s office employee.
NEW Enhanced Concealed Weapon Permits are processed by appointment only. Fill out and print application and bring application to appointment, along with $75, cash, check or credit card, your MT ID/Drivers License and proof of firearm training. Do not sign application until you are before a sheriff’s office employee.
EXPIRED permits (expired) more than 30 days will be processed as new permits new so don’t forget your $50. They do not require and appointment.
RENEWALS Fill out and print application and bring application to Sheriff’s Office, Monday through Friday 9am to 3pm, (holidays excluded) along with $25, cash, check or credit card, your MT ID/Driver’s License and current CCW permit. Do not sign application until you are before a sheriff’s office employee.
