The Yellowstone County District Court recently received information regarding a scam to steal your money and/or personal information.

1. The Court has received calls from individuals saying that they have been contacted by phone claiming that they have now been formally served and must contact Yellowstone County at a given number to avoid further action.

If you receive a call consistent with the descriptions above, please do the following:

• Do not provide personal information over the telephone;
• Hang up and contact the police to report the incident;
• Contact the Yellowstone County District Court to report the incident.

District Court would only contact an individual by phone if they've been selected for jury duty and notified by mail, and did not respond as directed in the letter. Additionally, at the current time, District Court is compiling the new jury pool for 2023-2024, and if we receive a jury questionnaire back and have questions, that potential juror may be contacted by phone for further clarification. District Court would in no circumstances notify someone of either civil or criminal proceedings against them by phone.
