The Mission of the Yellowstone County Weed Department is to assist the public, private, and other government agencies to manage and control existing noxious weed infestations as well as to prevent new invasive species from infesting Yellowstone County.

The Yellowstone County Weed Department has expanded their ability and involvement in the area of GPS weed inventory data collection. With the help of grant funding, the department has performed weed inventory mapping projects in the Yellowstone River corridor, and the Canyon Creek areas. The information collected should enable the department to monitor changes in the status of these watersheds.
