REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
Tuesday October 13, 2026
ALL PRESENT: Commissioner Morse, Chair; Commissioners Waters and White; Board Clerk Erika Guy; Clerk and Recorder Jeff Martin.
PLEDGE: MOMENT OF SILENCE, Held.
PUBLIC COMMENTS ON REGULAR, CONSENT AND FILED AGENDA ITEMS – Hearing no comment Commissioner Morse continued the Board Meeting.
METRARPARK – Facilities Update. Mr. Stoney Field, General Manager stated that the Wrangler Team Roping Championships were on grounds and Mother Nature helped us with keeping it super moist there for a while. We were able to use the outdoor arena the last two days of the event, which was super good because that means that our dirt was doing what it was, and it took care of that water. We did utilize the super barn. If you drove by you could tell that there were tons of participants. It’s sort of a transient event, so there’s probably a small percentage of folks that are there from the Tuesday all the way through Sunday. Otherwise, they’re there for a night or maybe two nights. We had the Chicago concert, and we did pretty good. We’ve got Styx coming in December and we’re right in the midst of NILE. I’m looking forward to the Rigging Masters, which is this weekend, and hopefully a big walk-up for that. Mr. Billie Chase, Facilities Manager, stated that our rock fences are done on the east side of the concourse. The drainage situation has been taken care of around the Elections building. We are working on a couple more gates for the west side of arena down that ramp and down the stairs to lock it down a little more for the concerts so they can feel better about it. We are going to add another exit coming out of the lower parking lot by the motorcycle area.
