ELECTED OFFICIALS’ COMPENSATION HEARING

Thursday June 19, 2025

          ALL PRESENT:  Scott Twito, County Attorney, Commissioner’s Morse, Waters and Ostlund, Judge David Carter, Sheriff Mike Linder, Citizens Oscar Heinrich and Billie Ruff, Jennifer Jones Finance Director.

          Mr. Scott Twito called the meeting to order.  Mr. Twito explained that the compensation committee is required to meet twice.  The County Compensation Committee introduced themselves.  Mr. Twito noted that at the last meeting 3% was the favored increase amount.  Commissioner Mike Waters stated that CPI is at 2.9%.  Commissioner Morse asked how a 3% increase would affect the Sheriff’s Deputies.  Ms. Jones, Finance Director stated that the deputies would receive approximately a 3.65% raise. 

          Mr. Scott Twito asked for public comments.  Judge Cater stated that the Justice Court Judge’s salaries are tied to District Court Judge’s salaries and Justice Court Judges only get an increase every other year. 

          Sheriff Linder made a MOTION to approve a 3% increase to the Elected Officials’ salary, Commissioner Ostlund seconded.  Mr. Oscar Heinrich asked if everyone is onboard with this increase. Everyone stated that they were.  The Motion passed unanimous. 

          Mr. Scott Twito adjourned the meeting at 10:10 a.m.
