REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

          ALL PRESENT:  Commissioner Ostlund, Chair; Commissioners Morse and Jones; Board Clerk Teri Reitz; Clerk and Recorder Jeff Martin.

          PLEDGE: MOMENT OF SILENCE, Held.

          Minutes – March 7, 2023, March 14, 2023, March 21, 2023, and March 28, 2023.  Commissioner Morse made a MOTION to approve the Minutes, Commissioner Jones seconded.  Passed Unanimous.  Commissioner Jones made a MOTION to table item 3B on the Consent Agenda, Commissioner Morse seconded.  Passed Unanimous.

          PUBLIC COMMENTS ON REGULAR, CONSENT AND FILED AGENDA ITEMS - Hearing no comments Commissioner Ostlund continued the Board Meeting. 

          METRAPARK – Calendar.  Mr. Cody Reitz, Interim Assistant General Manager went through three months of calendar events.  Mr. Reitz stated the tickets are on sale for PBR, Ian Munsick, Blippi and Kane Brown.  B.)  Ticket Sales.  Mr. Tim Goodridge, Interim General Manager stated that he will be taking over the fair committee with Steve Solberg resigning from the MetraPark Advisory Board.  Mr. Goodridge stated having more shade at the fair is still be looked into. 

          COMMISSIONERS – A.)  Sherry Long – Retirement Letter.  Commissioner Morse made a MOTION to accept Sherry Long’s resignation/retirement letter, Commissioner Jones seconded.  Passed Unanimous.  B.)  Refer the Yellowstone County Treasurer, Assessor and Superintendent of Schools Vacancy to the County Attorney’s Staff for Recommendation back to the Board of County Commissioner on Tuesday April 18, 2023.  Commissioner Morse made a MOTION to refer the vacancy to the County Attorney’s Office for Recommendation, Commissioner Jones seconded.  Passed Unanimous. 

          COUNTY ATTORNEY – A.)  Resolution 23-53 Mandating the Annual Formation of the County Compensation Board and Providing a Mechanism for Making Appointments and Noticing Public Meetings.  Commissioner Jones made a MOTION to approve Resolution 23-53, Commissioner Morse seconded.  Passed Unanimous.  B.)  Resolution 23-54 of Intent for the Purpose of Convening a County Compensation Board to Hold Two Public Hearings to Recommend Elected Official’s Compensation for FY2024 to the Yellowstone County Board of Commissioners – Setting the Public Hearings for Tuesday May 23, 2023, and Tuesday June 6, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in Room 3108.  Commissioner Morse made a MOTION to approve Resolution 23-54, Commissioner Jones seconded.  Passed Unanimous.

          CLAIMS – Batches 23-146, 23-147, 23-148, 23-149 and 23-150.  Commissioner Jones made a MOTION to approve the Claims, Commissioner Morse seconded.  Passed Unanimous.

          PUBLIC COMMENTS ON COUNTY BUSINESS – Mr. Steve Simonsen invited the Commissioners to the Housing Summit on May 27, 2023.  Hearing no other comments Commissioner Ostlund adjourned the meeting at 9:41 a.m.
